My Experience with Sodarshan Chakra Kriya ????
Yogi Bhajan said that of all the 20 types of yoga, including Kundalini Yoga, this is the highest Kriya. That it cuts through all the darkness and gives you a new start.
✨
In an article by @kellybroganmd I read a statistic that said this Kriya was studied to be 74% effective at treating depression and anxiety even where medication was ineffective.
✨
With these statements I was naturally really drawn to the practice.
✨
The beginning days of the practice were beautiful. I had more energy, lightness, and joy throughout my day. I was absolutely loving the meditation!
✨
And then as I made it into my last week this week, the subconscious beliefs started to come up. Things I thought I had long since dealt with, and also other beliefs I didn’t even realize were holding me back.
✨
Deep existential questions at the root of my battle with depression started to arise.
✨
Is it even possible to make a difference in the world?
✨
Will my life have any lasting meaning?
✨
Are we just under the control of people with more money/status/power than us?
✨
Should I just give up and play my role?
✨
Are my life goals fuelled by ego, or a genuine desire to heal and connect?
✨
Deep questions I know ????
Kundalini Yoga is this powerful tool that asks us to step up, ask ourselves the hard questions, and live a life that is about more than just ourselves.
✨
After experiencing the depth of emotion that comes with those questions, I’m starting to feel a shift in the direction of my life.
✨
I want my life to start being less about how much I can achieve, and more about how much I can help.
✨
And I need to re-evaluate how I can better do that. So I’ve decided to turn this 40-day practice into a full 1000- day Sadhana.
✨
I’m grateful for the depth of this practice and the changes it brings to me on a daily basis ????????
